Emily Habermehl is an artist, poet, and social worker living in Austin, TX. She has studied art at the Corcoran School of Art, the University of Pittsburgh, the Dougherty Arts Center, and La Guna Gloria and now works out of her home studio.
Emily's main focus in art is color, design and composition. As she goes throughout her day, everything that she hears and experiences trigger certain shapes, patterns, and colors in her mind. Emily's goal is to get these shapes and colors down on paper and canvas. She has a true passion for color as the art subject itself - how colors fit together, how they communicate with each other within the design, how certain colors combined with one another evoke a certain feeling - this is paramount in her work. This is what she wants to communicate through her art.
